Hussmann / LMP Purity Natural Refrigeration System Installed in New Aldi Store
Bridgeton, MO – September 28 - The new Hussmann / LMP Purity transcritical CO2 refrigeration system was recently installed in a new Aldi Food Store located in West Seneca, New York. This project is representative of Aldi’s commitment to minimizing their environmental impact and constantly improving their building design.
The Hussmann Purity system operates efficiently in low, medium and high temperature applications and can be used in combination with all three. The Purity system is optimized for an operating range of 15 to 225 tons, and is highly adaptable for use in most climatic conditions. “We worked closely with Aldi to understand its refrigeration specs and offer Aldi a Purity transcritical CO2 refrigeration system that meets its requirements,” commented Quentin Crowe, Product Manager Refrigeration Systems, “Our Hussmann Purity system provides Aldi with an economical outdoor package system that looks and operates much like the HFC refrigeration systems in many of the existing Aldi stores, minimizing changes to current footprint and rooftop curbing, but operates solely on R744 refrigerant with a GWP of one. In addition, the Hussmann system will be supplying supplemental heat reclaim that provides a significant savings on heating a store.”
“We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Aldi by providing it with a natural refrigerant alternative that will help Aldi achieve its sustainability goals to lower energy costs and minimize greenhouse gas emissions,” said Dave Martin, Sr. VP National Accounts.
